Senior Functional / Business Analyst (Remote)

The Senior Functional / Business Analyst is a critical role that requires solid business acumen and technical know-how. An individual in this role will be the primary facilitator for the CTO and other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). This individual will take an SME's input and transform it into something that the development team can understand. The FA will spend a great deal of time asking questions like "What do you mean by that?" or "How does this fit in with what we were talking about earlier?" Questions like these expose potential, often subtle, differences in meaning between the SME and the rest of the development team. More importantly, these questions expose assumptions regarding business logic and processes that may not be clearly stated - or even stated at all by the SMEs.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the CTO, VP Product and UX Lead to:
    1. Understand the business objectives
    2. Quickly get a grasp on the "puzzle" being solved
    3. Provide user and system flows, diagrams and process documentation
    4. Provide a clear path for the engineering teams to execute product development
  • Be a source of authority on business process and technical flows for the team and serve as an "internal" subject matter expert for the internal team and provide input into other deliverables as appropriate (e.g. wireframes, design comps, etc.)
  • Review design deliverables for consistency and as a source of requirements
  • Work with QA to develop testing strategy, identify test cases and participate in UAT
  • Create training materials for train-the-trainer and end-user training sessions
  • Planning and scoping FA work streams
  • Assist in planning development tasks and provide development support

Required Skills/Knowledge/Experience

  • A comfort working in a remote, global, virtual team environment
  • Experience with API interface testing tools (Postman, Paw, etc)
  • Can understand reading API specifications provided from a third party and advise team on the specification
  • Ability to "visualize the dots" in a business problem and immediately verbalize a solution by "connecting the dots"
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • You have experience in products that involve web, mobile and tablet solutions

Added Bonus

  • You've had some exposure to the automotive industry
  • You've had some exposure to data science, metrics & analytics
  • You've had experience in VR/AR projects
